When Delhi weddings work best
- November to February is the cleanest winter window — cool, dry and clear on the best days
- Late October can work but carry AQI risk; harvest-burning season in neighbouring states can push air quality to hazardous without advance notice
- December–January fog affects early-morning ceremonies and IGIA arrival slots — build buffer time into the schedule
- Avoid May–June (45°C+ daytime temperatures) for outdoor functions
- March is a workable shoulder month; April heats fast
The smog calendar
October–November harvest-burning season is a real and recurring risk in Delhi, not an outlier event. We check historical AQI data when advising on specific dates, and plan every outdoor ceremony in that window with a structurally sound covered alternative. An outdoor ceremony with no real backup is a planning failure here, not bad luck.
International arrivals: IGIA to the venue
- IGIA (Indira Gandhi International Airport) operates direct services to sixty-plus international destinations — the highest count of any Indian airport
- Most Lutyens-corridor hotels are 35–50 minutes from IGIA in normal traffic; Aerocity properties are fifteen minutes
- Plan arrivals by flight cluster, not by a single check-in window — guests spread across twelve hours or more
- Overnight international arrivals need early room readiness; brief this into every hotel room-block agreement
Venue corridors and access
- Chanakyapuri / Lutyens belt: prestige and proximity to diplomatic-quarter greenery, but VVIP roads require advance vehicle-clearance planning
- Mansingh Road: central Delhi's most visible hotel address; dense with traffic at peak hours
- Aerocity: maximum arrival ease for international guests, modern convention infrastructure
Marriage registration and legal
Delhi marriages are registered under the Hindu Marriage Act or the Special Marriage Act (the latter with a thirty-day notice period and document attestation). NRI and foreign-national couples face additional steps. Most nationalities qualify for India's e-Visa applied online; we confirm each overseas guest's visa category against current official rules. Requirements change — verify with a legal advisor or the registrar; we coordinate around your chosen dates but do not provide legal advice.
Budget shape
Delhi's five-stars sit at the upper end of India's wedding-hotel market, and peak-season demand in this city is intense. There is no single honest number.
