- December to March is peak (clearest skies, highest rates)
- May to October/November is the southwest monsoon (showers, better value)
- Showers can come in short bursts even in shoulder months — plan a backup

Resort weddings for foreign couples in the Maldives are symbolic ceremonies (or vow renewals) and are not legally binding — civil marriage under Maldivian law is for citizens. Couples typically register their marriage legally at home first, then celebrate on the island. Hindu pheras are arranged with an imported pandit and mandap. We guide you through the practicalities and timelines; we don't make legal promises.
